Jack Sparrow's Beach Day

I think you guys are probably used to my utter weirdness at this point. At least I would hope so, most people outside of my family aren't. It's always nice to find people who are. Like Cat, who when I saw her dreads and was like I must make you into a female Jack Sparrow. She seemed unfazed and actually ecstatic about it. The world needs more people like her.
(Thanks for the fantastic shoot, Catherine)

(Also I stole this song idea from the Hillywood Show's parody of Pirates of the Caribbean)

I'm sorry this post is so long, I had a hard time choosing the pictures. This was a last minute shoot, we did a value village run, went home threw the costume together. Got Starbucks and headed to the beach, really happy with how it turned out. Had an absolute blast!

  1. OH MY WORD. I may have squealed when I saw the title of this post. AND THEN THE PICTUUUUUURES. I'm so glad you shared a bunch because they're all GOLDEN!!! I love the ones with the small details, like the ones of just her hands. And then the funny ones are so great! Like her licking the rock and finding the giant bottle. XDDD These are PRICELESS.

And I LOVE your weirdness. We weirdos gotta stick together. *nods*

I'm glad you enjoyed them!!! My mom was so confused when I asked her to lick the rock.
I have honestly like three folders, I could've put more.

      Thanks Christine! I agree <3

  2. It's cute. I don't think it's any weirder than anything else us writerly types tend to do.

  3. SKYE THIS IS INCREDIBLE! IN. CRED. IBLE.

A bit raw, though, as the girl who dressed up as Jack Sparrow nearly three years ago and decided she wanted dreads, got dreads three months ago, and had to comb them out the day before yesterday because they weren't working because she stupidly got them in Kenya without doing her research and got Afro-hair ones not Caucasian-hair ones.

    A bit raw.

    I miss my dreads.

But ANYWAY, THIS IS AMAZING. Do you know what an amazing photographer you are? I remember the Mad Hatter's Tea Party shoot you did a while ago. That's always been my fave, but I have to say this has sky-rocketed to take joint first place! Seriously, Skye, you are soooo talented. To be able to put a costume together like that? You're amazing! It's like you've studied costume/textiles! And the photos are gorge. She's an amazing model, too, in the first pic she does look just like him! The way she is holding herself, the faces she makes, you have 100% captured the essence of Captain Jack! Seriously, beautiful post. <3333

    1. THANKS EMILY!!!! YOU ARE SO SWEET!

Sorry about that, I should have put a disclaimer ;)
It's too soon. Your dreads were awesome.

Thank you so much! Not really, in comparison with other photographers I feel pretty amateurish. That one was fun, I think this one beats that one for me too. Your too kind, I don't know what to say.*eep* Just thank you, it means a lot. She is,I hope to do another shoot with her. That was what I was hoping for. Glad to know we accomplished it! Thanks again, honestly this comment. I can't with you and your niceness <333
